New Living Translation

1Of David. A psalm. I will sing of your love and justice; to you, LORD, I will sing praise.

1I will sing of your love and justice, LORD. I will praise you with songs.

2I will be careful to lead a blameless life-- when will you come to me? I will conduct the affairs of my house with a blameless heart.

2I will be careful to live a blameless life— when will you come to help me? I will lead a life of integrity in my own home.

3I will not look with approval on anything that is vile. I hate what faithless people do; I will have no part in it.

3I will refuse to look at anything vile and vulgar. I hate all who deal crookedly; I will have nothing to do with them.

4The perverse of heart shall be far from me; I will have nothing to do with what is evil.

4I will reject perverse ideas and stay away from every evil.

5Whoever slanders their neighbor in secret, I will put to silence; whoever has haughty eyes and a proud heart, I will not tolerate.

5I will not tolerate people who slander their neighbors. I will not endure conceit and pride.

6My eyes will be on the faithful in the land, that they may dwell with me; the one whose walk is blameless will minister to me.

6I will search for faithful people to be my companions. Only those who are above reproach will be allowed to serve me.

7No one who practices deceit will dwell in my house; no one who speaks falsely will stand in my presence.

7I will not allow deceivers to serve in my house, and liars will not stay in my presence.

8Every morning I will put to silence all the wicked in the land; I will cut off every evildoer from the city of the LORD.

8My daily task will be to ferret out the wicked and free the city of the LORD from their grip.
