Psalm 123
NIV Parallel NLT [BSB CSB ESV HCS KJV ISV NAS NET NIV NLT HEB]
New International VersionNew Living Translation
1A song of ascents. I lift up my eyes to you, to you who sit enthroned in heaven.1I lift my eyes to you, O God, enthroned in heaven.
2As the eyes of slaves look to the hand of their master, as the eyes of a female slave look to the hand of her mistress, so our eyes look to the LORD our God, till he shows us his mercy.2We keep looking to the LORD our God for his mercy, just as servants keep their eyes on their master, as a slave girl watches her mistress for the slightest signal.
3Have mercy on us, LORD, have mercy on us, for we have endured no end of contempt.3Have mercy on us, LORD, have mercy, for we have had our fill of contempt.
4We have endured no end of ridicule from the arrogant, of contempt from the proud.4We have had more than our fill of the scoffing of the proud and the contempt of the arrogant.
