New King James VersionChristian Standard Bible
Then the LORD said to me, “Go again, love a woman who is loved by a lover and is committing adultery, just like the love of the LORD for the children of Israel, who look to other gods and love the raisin cakes of the pagans.1Then the LORD said to me, "Go again; show love to a woman who is loved by another man and is an adulteress, just as the LORD loves the Israelites though they turn to other gods and love raisin cakes."
So I bought her for myself for fifteen shekels of silver, and one and one-half homers of barley.2So I bought her for fifteen shekels of silver and five bushels of barley.
And I said to her, “You shall stay with me many days; you shall not play the harlot, nor shall you have a man—so, too, will I be toward you.”3I said to her, "You are to live with me many days. You must not be promiscuous or belong to any man, and I will act the same way toward you."
For the children of Israel shall abide many days without king or prince, without sacrifice or sacred pillar, without ephod or teraphim.4For the Israelites must live many days without king or prince, without sacrifice or sacred pillar, and without ephod or household idols.
Afterward the children of Israel shall return and seek the LORD their God and David their king. They shall fear the LORD and His goodness in the latter days.5Afterward, the people of Israel will return and seek the LORD their God and David their king. They will come with awe to the LORD and to his goodness in the last days.
