The fool has said in his heart, “There is no God.” They are corrupt, They have done abominable works, There is none who does good. | 1The fool says in his heart, "There's no God." They are corrupt; they do vile deeds. There is no one who does good. |
| 2The LORD looks down from heaven upon the children of men, To see if there are any who understand, who seek God. | 2The LORD looks down from heaven on the human race to see if there is one who is wise, one who seeks God. |
| 3They have all turned aside, They have together become corrupt; There is none who does good, No, not one. | 3All have turned away; all alike have become corrupt. There is no one who does good, not even one. |
| 4Have all the workers of iniquity no knowledge, Who eat up my people as they eat bread, And do not call on the LORD? | 4Will evildoers never understand? They consume my people as they consume bread; they do not call on the LORD. |
| 5There they are in great fear, For God is with the generation of the righteous. | 5Then they will be filled with dread, for God is with those who are righteous. |

| 7Oh, that the salvation of Israel would come out of Zion! When the LORD brings back the captivity of His people, Let Jacob rejoice and Israel be glad. | 7Oh, that Israel's deliverance would come from Zion! When the LORD restores the fortunes of his people, let Jacob rejoice, let Israel be glad. |
