Dear brothers and sisters, if another believer is overcome by some sin, you who are godly should gently and humbly help that person back onto the right path. And be careful not to fall into the same temptation yourself.1Brethren, if a man be overtaken in a fault, ye which are spiritual, restore such an one in the spirit of meekness; considering thyself, lest thou also be tempted.
Share each other’s burdens, and in this way obey the law of Christ.2Bear ye one another's burdens, and so fulfil the law of Christ.
If you think you are too important to help someone, you are only fooling yourself. You are not that important.3For if a man think himself to be something, when he is nothing, he deceiveth himself.
Pay careful attention to your own work, for then you will get the satisfaction of a job well done, and you won’t need to compare yourself to anyone else.4But let every man prove his own work, and then shall he have rejoicing in himself alone, and not in another.
For we are each responsible for our own conduct.5For every man shall bear his own burden.
Those who are taught the word of God should provide for their teachers, sharing all good things with them.6Let him that is taught in the word communicate unto him that teacheth in all good things.
Don’t be misled—you cannot mock the justice of God. You will always harvest what you plant.7Be not deceived; God is not mocked: for whatsoever a man soweth, that shall he also reap.
Those who live only to satisfy their own sinful nature will harvest decay and death from that sinful nature. But those who live to please the Spirit will harvest everlasting life from the Spirit.8For he that soweth to his flesh shall of the flesh reap corruption; but he that soweth to the Spirit shall of the Spirit reap life everlasting.
So let’s not get tired of doing what is good. At just the right time we will reap a harvest of blessing if we don’t give up.9And let us not be weary in well doing: for in due season we shall reap, if we faint not.
Therefore, whenever we have the opportunity, we should do good to everyone—especially to those in the family of faith. Paul’s Final Advice10As we have therefore opportunity, let us do good unto all men, especially unto them who are of the household of faith.
Notice what large letters I use as I write these closing words in my own handwriting.11Ye see how large a letter I have written unto you with mine own hand.
Those who are trying to force you to be circumcised want to look good to others. They don’t want to be persecuted for teaching that the cross of Christ alone can save.12As many as desire to make a fair shew in the flesh, they constrain you to be circumcised; only lest they should suffer persecution for the cross of Christ.
And even those who advocate circumcision don’t keep the whole law themselves. They only want you to be circumcised so they can boast about it and claim you as their disciples.13For neither they themselves who are circumcised keep the law; but desire to have you circumcised, that they may glory in your flesh.
As for me, may I never boast about anything except the cross of our Lord Jesus Christ. Because of that cross, my interest in this world has been crucified, and the world’s interest in me has also died.14But God forbid that I should glory, save in the cross of our Lord Jesus Christ, by whom the world is crucified unto me, and I unto the world.
It doesn’t matter whether we have been circumcised or not. What counts is whether we have been transformed into a new creation.15For in Christ Jesus neither circumcision availeth any thing, nor uncircumcision, but a new creature.
May God’s peace and mercy be upon all who live by this principle; they are the new people of God.16And as many as walk according to this rule, peace be on them, and mercy, and upon the Israel of God.
From now on, don’t let anyone trouble me with these things. For I bear on my body the scars that show I belong to Jesus.17From henceforth let no man trouble me: for I bear in my body the marks of the Lord Jesus.
Dear brothers and sisters, may the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with your spirit. Amen.18Brethren, the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with your spirit. Amen.
