Psalm 11
NLT Parallel NET [BSB CSB ESV HCS KJV ISV NAS NET NIV NLT HEB]
New Living TranslationNET Bible
1I trust in the LORD for protection. So why do you say to me, “Fly like a bird to the mountains for safety!1For the music director; by David. In the LORD I have taken shelter. How can you say to me, "Flee to a mountain like a bird!
2The wicked are stringing their bows and fitting their arrows on the bowstrings. They shoot from the shadows at those whose hearts are right.2For look, the wicked prepare their bows, they put their arrows on the strings, to shoot in the darkness at the morally upright.
3The foundations of law and order have collapsed. What can the righteous do?”3When the foundations are destroyed, what can the godly accomplish?"
4But the LORD is in his holy Temple; the LORD still rules from heaven. He watches everyone closely, examining every person on earth.4The LORD is in his holy temple; the LORD's throne is in heaven. His eyes watch; his eyes examine all people.
5The LORD examines both the righteous and the wicked. He hates those who love violence.5The LORD approves of the godly, but he hates the wicked and those who love to do violence.
6He will rain down blazing coals and burning sulfur on the wicked, punishing them with scorching winds.6May the LORD rain down burning coals and brimstone on the wicked! A whirlwind is what they deserve!
7For the righteous LORD loves justice. The virtuous will see his face.7Certainly the LORD is just; he rewards godly deeds; the upright will experience his favor.
