1 Now Joshua was old and well along in years, and the LORD said to him, “You are old and well along in years, but very much of the land remains to be possessed. Now Joshua was old and advanced in years, and the LORD said to him, “You are old and advanced in years, and there remains yet very much land to possess. 5 the land of the Gebalites; and all Lebanon to the east, from Baal-gad below Mount Hermon to Lebo-hamath. and the land of the Gebalites, and all Lebanon, toward the sunrise, from Baal-gad below Mount Hermon to Lebo-hamath, And the land of the Giblites, and all Lebanon, toward the sunrising, from Baalgad under mount Hermon unto the entering into Hamath. and the land of the Gebalite, and all of Lebanon, toward the east, from Baal-gad below Mount Hermon as far as Lebo-hamath. the area of Byblos; and all Lebanon to the east, from Baal Gad below Mount Hermon to Lebo Hamath.
6 All the inhabitants of the hill country from Lebanon to Misrephoth-maim— all the Sidonians— I Myself will drive out before the Israelites. Be sure to divide it by lot as an inheritance to Israel, as I have commanded you. all the inhabitants of the hill country from Lebanon to Misrephoth-maim, even all the Sidonians. I myself will drive them out from before the people of Israel. Only allot the land to Israel for an inheritance, as I have commanded you. All the inhabitants of the hill country from Lebanon unto Misrephothmaim, <i>and</i> all the Sidonians, them will I drive out from before the children of Israel: only divide thou it by lot unto the Israelites for an inheritance, as I have commanded thee. All the inhabitants of the hill country from Lebanon as far as Misrephoth-maim, all the Sidonians, I will drive out from the sons of Israel; only allot it to Israel as an inheritance as I have commanded you. “As for all the inhabitants of the mountain regions from Lebanon to Misrephoth Maim, that is, all the Sidonians, I myself will drive them out before the Israelites. Be sure to allocate this land to Israel for an inheritance, as I have instructed you,

8 The other half of Manasseh, along with the Reubenites and Gadites, had received the inheritance Moses had given them beyond the Jordan to the east, just as Moses the servant of the LORD had assigned to them: With the other half of the tribe of Manasseh the Reubenites and the Gadites received their inheritance, which Moses gave them, beyond the Jordan eastward, as Moses the servant of the LORD gave them: With whom the Reubenites and the Gadites have received their inheritance, which Moses gave them, beyond Jordan eastward, <i>even</i> as Moses the servant of the LORD gave them; With the other half-tribe, the Reubenites and the Gadites received their inheritance which Moses gave them beyond the Jordan to the east, just as Moses the servant of the LORD gave to them; The other half of Manasseh, the Reubenites and the Gadites had received the inheritance that Moses had given them east of the Jordan, as he, the servant of the LORD, had assigned it to them.
9 The area from Aroer on the rim of the Arnon Valley, along with the city in the middle of the valley, the whole plateau of Medeba as far as Dibon, from Aroer, which is on the edge of the Valley of the Arnon, and the city that is in the middle of the valley, and all the tableland of Medeba as far as Dibon; From Aroer, that <i>is</i> upon the bank of the river Arnon, and the city that <i>is</i> in the midst of the river, and all the plain of Medeba unto Dibon; from Aroer, which is on the edge of the Valley of the Arnon, with the city which is in the middle of the valley, and all the plain of Medeba, as far as Dibon; It extended from Aroer on the rim of the Arnon Gorge, and from the town in the middle of the gorge, and included the whole plateau of Medeba as far as Dibon,
10 and all the cities of Sihon king of the Amorites who reigned in Heshbon, as far as the border of the Ammonites; and all the cities of Sihon king of the Amorites, who reigned in Heshbon, as far as the boundary of the Ammonites; And all the cities of Sihon king of the Amorites, which reigned in Heshbon, unto the border of the children of Ammon; and all the cities of Sihon king of the Amorites, who reigned in Heshbon, as far as the border of the sons of Ammon; and all the towns of Sihon king of the Amorites, who ruled in Heshbon, out to the border of the Ammonites.
11 also Gilead and the territory of the Geshurites and Maacathites, all of Mount Hermon, and all Bashan as far as Salecah— and Gilead, and the region of the Geshurites and Maacathites, and all Mount Hermon, and all Bashan to Salecah; And Gilead, and the border of the Geshurites and Maachathites, and all mount Hermon, and all Bashan unto Salcah; and Gilead, and the territory of the Geshurites and Maacathites, and all Mount Hermon, and all Bashan as far as Salecah; It also included Gilead, the territory of the people of Geshur and Maakah, all of Mount Hermon and all Bashan as far as Salekah—
12 the whole kingdom of Og in Bashan, who had reigned in Ashtaroth and Edrei and had remained as a remnant of the Rephaim. Moses had struck them down and dispossessed them, all the kingdom of Og in Bashan, who reigned in Ashtaroth and in Edrei (he alone was left of the remnant of the Rephaim); these Moses had struck and driven out. All the kingdom of Og in Bashan, which reigned in Ashtaroth and in Edrei, who remained of the remnant of the giants: for these did Moses smite, and cast them out. all the kingdom of Og in Bashan, who reigned in Ashtaroth and in Edrei (he <i>alone</i> was left of the remnant of the Rephaim); for Moses struck them and drove them out. that is, the whole kingdom of Og in Bashan, who had reigned in Ashtaroth and Edrei. (He was the last of the Rephaites.) Moses had defeated them and taken over their land.
13 but the Israelites did not drive out the Geshurites or the Maacathites. So Geshur and Maacath dwell among the Israelites to this day. Yet the people of Israel did not drive out the Geshurites or the Maacathites, but Geshur and Maacath dwell in the midst of Israel to this day. Nevertheless the children of Israel expelled not the Geshurites, nor the Maachathites: but the Geshurites and the Maachathites dwell among the Israelites until this day. But the sons of Israel did not drive out the Geshurites or the Maacathites; instead, Geshur and Maacath live among Israel to this day. But the Israelites did not drive out the people of Geshur and Maakah, so they continue to live among the Israelites to this day.
14 To the tribe of Levi, however, Moses had given no inheritance. The offerings made by fire to the LORD, the God of Israel, are their inheritance, just as He had promised them. To the tribe of Levi alone Moses gave no inheritance. The offerings by fire to the LORD God of Israel are their inheritance, as he said to him. Only unto the tribe of Levi he gave none inheritance; the sacrifices of the LORD God of Israel made by fire <i>are</i> their inheritance, as he said unto them. Only to the tribe of Levi he did not give an inheritance; the offerings by fire to the LORD, the God of Israel, are their inheritance, as He spoke to him. But to the tribe of Levi he gave no inheritance, since the food offerings presented to the LORD, the God of Israel, are their inheritance, as he promised them.
15 This is what Moses had given to the clans of the tribe of Reuben: And Moses gave an inheritance to the tribe of the people of Reuben according to their clans. And Moses gave unto the tribe of the children of Reuben <i>inheritance</i> according to their families. So Moses gave <i>an inheritance</i> to the tribe of the sons of Reuben according to their families. This is what Moses had given to the tribe of Reuben, according to its clans:

21 all the cities of the plateau and all the kingdom of Sihon king of the Amorites, who reigned in Heshbon until Moses killed him and the chiefs of Midian (Evi, Rekem, Zur, Hur, and Reba), the princes of Sihon who lived in the land. that is, all the cities of the tableland, and all the kingdom of Sihon king of the Amorites, who reigned in Heshbon, whom Moses defeated with the leaders of Midian, Evi and Rekem and Zur and Hur and Reba, the princes of Sihon, who lived in the land. 22 The Israelites also killed the diviner Balaam son of Beor along with the others they put to the sword. Balaam also, the son of Beor, the one who practiced divination, was killed with the sword by the people of Israel among the rest of their slain. Balaam also the son of Beor, the soothsayer, did the children of Israel slay with the sword among them that were slain by them. The sons of Israel also killed Balaam the son of Beor, the diviner, with the sword among <i>the rest of</i> their dead. In addition to those slain in battle, the Israelites had put to the sword Balaam son of Beor, who practiced divination.
23 And the border of the Reubenites was the bank of the Jordan. This was the inheritance of the clans of the Reubenites, including the cities and villages. And the border of the people of Reuben was the Jordan as a boundary. This was the inheritance of the people of Reuben, according to their clans with their cities and villages. And the border of the children of Reuben was Jordan, and the border <i>thereof</i>. This <i>was</i> the inheritance of the children of Reuben after their families, the cities and the villages thereof. The border of the sons of Reuben was the Jordan. This was the inheritance of the sons of Reuben according to their families, the cities and their villages. The boundary of the Reubenites was the bank of the Jordan. These towns and their villages were the inheritance of the Reubenites, according to their clans.
24 This is what Moses had given to the clans of the tribe of Gad: Moses gave an inheritance also to the tribe of Gad, to the people of Gad, according to their clans. And Moses gave <i>inheritance</i> unto the tribe of Gad, <i>even</i> unto the children of Gad according to their families. Moses also gave <i>an inheritance</i> to the tribe of Gad, to the sons of Gad according to their families. This is what Moses had given to the tribe of Gad, according to its clans:
25 The territory of Jazer, all the cities of Gilead, and half the land of the Ammonites as far as Aroer, near Rabbah; Their territory was Jazer, and all the cities of Gilead, and half the land of the Ammonites, to Aroer, which is east of Rabbah, And their coast was Jazer, and all the cities of Gilead, and half the land of the children of Ammon, unto Aroer that <i>is</i> before Rabbah; Their territory was Jazer and all the cities of Gilead, and half the land of the sons of Ammon, as far as Aroer which is opposite Rabbah; The territory of Jazer, all the towns of Gilead and half the Ammonite country as far as Aroer, near Rabbah;
26 the territory from Heshbon to Ramath-mizpeh and Betonim, and from Mahanaim to the border of Debir; and from Heshbon to Ramath-mizpeh and Betonim, and from Mahanaim to the territory of Debir, And from Heshbon unto Ramathmizpeh, and Betonim; and from Mahanaim unto the border of Debir; and from Heshbon as far as Ramath-mizpeh and Betonim, and from Mahanaim as far as the border of Debir; and from Heshbon to Ramath Mizpah and Betonim, and from Mahanaim to the territory of Debir;
27 and in the valley, Beth-haram, Beth-nimrah, Succoth, and Zaphon, with the rest of the kingdom of Sihon king of Heshbon (the territory on the east side of the Jordan up to the edge of the Sea of Chinnereth and in the valley Beth-haram, Beth-nimrah, Succoth, and Zaphon, the rest of the kingdom of Sihon king of Heshbon, having the Jordan as a boundary, to the lower end of the Sea of Chinnereth, eastward beyond the Jordan. And in the valley, Betharam, and Bethnimrah, and Succoth, and Zaphon, the rest of the kingdom of Sihon king of Heshbon, Jordan and <i>his</i> border, <i>even</i> unto the edge of the sea of Chinnereth on the other side Jordan eastward. and in the valley, Beth-haram, Beth-nimrah, Succoth, and Zaphon, the rest of the kingdom of Sihon king of Heshbon, with the Jordan as a border, as far as the <i>lower</i> end of the Sea of Chinnereth beyond the Jordan to the east. and in the valley, Beth Haram, Beth Nimrah, Sukkoth and Zaphon with the rest of the realm of Sihon king of Heshbon (the east side of the Jordan, the territory up to the end of the Sea of Galilee).
28 This was the inheritance of the clans of the Gadites, including the cities and villages. This is the inheritance of the people of Gad according to their clans, with their cities and villages. This <i>is</i> the inheritance of the children of Gad after their families, the cities, and their villages. This is the inheritance of the sons of Gad according to their families, the cities and their villages. These towns and their villages were the inheritance of the Gadites, according to their clans.
29 This is what Moses had given to the clans of the half-tribe of Manasseh, that is, to half the tribe of the descendants of Manasseh: And Moses gave an inheritance to the half-tribe of Manasseh. It was allotted to the half-tribe of the people of Manasseh according to their clans. And Moses gave <i>inheritance</i> unto the half tribe of Manasseh: and <i>this</i> was <i>the possession</i> of the half tribe of the children of Manasseh by their families. Moses also gave <i>an inheritance</i> to the half-tribe of Manasseh; and it was for the half-tribe of the sons of Manasseh according to their families. This is what Moses had given to the half-tribe of Manasseh, that is, to half the family of the descendants of Manasseh, according to its clans:
30 The territory from Mahanaim through all Bashan— all the kingdom of Og king of Bashan, including all the towns of Jair that are in Bashan, sixty cities; Their region extended from Mahanaim, through all Bashan, the whole kingdom of Og king of Bashan, and all the towns of Jair, which are in Bashan, sixty cities, And their coast was from Mahanaim, all Bashan, all the kingdom of Og king of Bashan, and all the towns of Jair, which <i>are</i> in Bashan, threescore cities: Their territory was from Mahanaim, all Bashan, all the kingdom of Og king of Bashan, and all the towns of Jair, which are in Bashan, sixty cities; The territory extending from Mahanaim and including all of Bashan, the entire realm of Og king of Bashan—all the settlements of Jair in Bashan, sixty towns,
31 half of Gilead; and Ashtaroth and Edrei, the royal cities of Og in Bashan. All this was for the clans of the descendants of Machir son of Manasseh, that is, half of the descendants of Machir. and half Gilead, and Ashtaroth, and Edrei, the cities of the kingdom of Og in Bashan. These were allotted to the people of Machir the son of Manasseh for the half of the people of Machir according to their clans. And half Gilead, and Ashtaroth, and Edrei, cities of the kingdom of Og in Bashan, <i>were pertaining</i> unto the children of Machir the son of Manasseh, <i>even</i> to the one half of the children of Machir by their families. also half of Gilead, with Ashtaroth and Edrei, the cities of the kingdom of Og in Bashan, <i>were</i> for the sons of Machir the son of Manasseh, for half of the sons of Machir according to their families. half of Gilead, and Ashtaroth and Edrei (the royal cities of Og in Bashan). This was for the descendants of Makir son of Manasseh—for half of the sons of Makir, according to their clans.
32 These were the portions Moses had given them on the plains of Moab beyond the Jordan, east of Jericho. These are the inheritances that Moses distributed in the plains of Moab, beyond the Jordan east of Jericho. These <i>are the countries</i> which Moses did distribute for inheritance in the plains of Moab, on the other side Jordan, by Jericho, eastward. These are <i>the territories</i> which Moses apportioned as an inheritance in the plains of Moab, beyond the Jordan at Jericho to the east. This is the inheritance Moses had given when he was in the plains of Moab across the Jordan east of Jericho.
33 To the tribe of Levi, however, Moses had given no inheritance. The LORD, the God of Israel, is their inheritance, just as He had promised them. But to the tribe of Levi Moses gave no inheritance; the LORD God of Israel is their inheritance, just as he said to them. But unto the tribe of Levi Moses gave not <i>any</i> inheritance: the LORD God of Israel <i>was</i> their inheritance, as he said unto them.
