Why the Exchange Is Dangerous • It violates the first commandment (Exodus 20:3-5). • Idols enslave rather than satisfy (Psalm 16:4; 1 Corinthians 12:2). • They invite God’s discipline (1 Corinthians 10:6-11). • They dull spiritual perception, making hearts “like the objects they trust” (Psalm 135:18).
