Psalm 54
Smith's Literal Translation Par ▾

Save Me by Your Name
(1 Samuel 23:7–29)

1To the overseer upon the stringed instrument, instruction to David: In the going of the Ziphims, and they will say to Saul, Is not David hiding with us? O God, in thy name save me, and in thy strength thou wilt judge me.

2O God, hear my prayer: give ear to the sayings of my mouth.

3For strangers rose up against me, and the powerful sought out my soul: they set not God before them. Silence.

4Behold, God a help to me: Jehovah with those upholding my soul.

5He will turn back the evil to those oppressing me; in thy truth cut them off.

6In willingness I will sacrifice to thee: I will praise thy name, O Jehovah, for it is good.

7For from all straits he delivered me, and mine eyes looked upon my enemies.
