Satan’s end-time counterfeit will include persuasive signs, false claims, and unrighteous influence designed to imitate divine power while opposing Christ. Jesus warned that false christs and false prophets would perform great signs and wonders in the days leading to His return (Matthew 24:24). Such deception will seek to turn people from God’s revealed truth and establish allegiance to the lawless one.

Those who are perishing remain under God’s judgment because they stand apart from Christ. Paul elsewhere contrasts those who are perishing with those being saved through the message of the cross (1 Corinthians 1:18). Their vulnerability to deception does not arise from a lack of available truth, but from their continued rejection of it.

God’s truth is centered in Jesus Christ, who is Himself “the way, the truth, and the life” (John 14:6). Refusing to love the truth involves more than intellectual disbelief; it is a settled resistance to God’s word and the salvation offered through His Son. Like those described in Romans 1:18–25, they suppress truth in favor of unrighteousness.

Salvation is genuinely offered through faith in Christ and His finished work. Those who receive the gospel are delivered from judgment, but those who reject it remain in their sins. The coming deception will reveal the tragic outcome of refusing the truth God has made known.
