Psalm 144
Berean Literal Bible Par ▾

Blessed Be Yahweh, My Rock

1Of David.

1 Blessed be YHWH, my Rock,

the One training my hands for war,

my fingers for battle—

2my steadfast One and my fortress,

my tower and my deliverer—for me;

my shield in whom I take refuge,

the One subduing the peoples under me.

3O YHWH, what is man that You take knowledge of him,

the son of man that You think of him?

4Man is like a breath;

his days are like a shadow passing by.

5O YHWH, bend Your heavens and come down!

Touch the mountains, that they may smoke!

6Flash lightning and scatter them;

send forth Your arrows and rout them!

7Stretch out Your hand from on high;

release me and deliver me from the great waters,

from the hand of sons of a foreigner,

8whose mouth has spoken emptiness,

and their right hand is a right hand of falsehood.

9O God, let me sing a new song to You;

on a harp of ten strings I will make music to You—

10the One giving salvation to kings,

the One releasing David His servant from the sword of evil.

11May You release me and snatch me

from the hand of the sons of a foreigner,

whose mouth speaks emptiness,

and their right hand is a right hand of deception.

12That our sons may be as plants

grown up in their youth,

our daughters like corner pillars,

carved for the pattern of the palace.

13Our granaries full,

bringing out from kind to kind,

our flocks producing thousands,

being myriads in our fields,

14our oxen carrying.

Let there be no breach,

and no going forth,

and no an outcry in our wide streets.

15Blessed are the people for whom is thus;

blessed are the people for whom YHWH is God!
