This then I say and testify in the Lord: That henceforward you walk not as also the Gentiles walk in the vanity of their mind:

16From whom the whole body, being compacted and fitly joined together, by what every joint supplieth, according to the operation in the measure of every part, maketh increase of the body, unto the edifying of itself in charity. 17This then I say and testify in the Lord: That henceforward you walk not as also the Gentiles walk in the vanity of their mind: 18Having their understanding darkened: being alienated from the life of God through the ignorance that is in them, because of the blindness of their hearts.…
That he may testify unto them, lest they also come into this place of torments.
Because that, when they knew God, they have not glorified him as God or given thanks: but became vain in their thoughts. And their foolish heart was darkened.
Wherein in time past you walked according to the course of this world, according to the prince of the power of this air, of the spirit that now worketh on the children of unbelief:
To put off, according to former conversation, the old man, who is corrupted according to the desire of error.
Now this I say, that no man may deceive you by loftiness of words.
Let no man seduce you, willing in humility and religion of angels, walking in the things which he hath not seen, in vain puffed up by the sense of his flesh:

Knowing that you were not redeemed with corruptible things, as gold or silver, from your vain conversation of the tradition of your fathers:
