ContextPaul Preaches the Gospel
…22And I was unknown by face to the churches of Judea, which were in Christ: 23But they had heard only: He, who persecuted us in times past doth now preach the faith which once he impugned. 24And they glorified God in me.…
And the word of the Lord increased: and the number of the disciples was multiplied in Jerusalem exceedingly. A great multitude also of the priests obeyed the faith.
And all that heard him were astonished and said: Is not this he who persecuted in Jerusalem those that called upon this name and came hither for that intent, that he might carry them bound to the chief priests?
Now some also of the Jewish exorcists, who went about, attempted to invoke over them that had evil spirits the name of the Lord Jesus, saying: I conjure you by Jesus, whom Paul preacheth.
Therefore, whilst we have time, let us work good to all men, but especially to those who are of the household of the faith.
