Not a man was left in Ai or Bethel who did not go out after Israel, leaving the city wide open while they pursued Israel.
and as soon as he did so, the men in ambush rose quickly from their position. They rushed forward, entered the city, captured it, and immediately set it on fire.
Joshua did not draw back his hand that held his battle lance until all the inhabitants of Ai were completely destroyed.
I will strengthen the arms of Babylon's king, but Pharaoh's arms will fall limp. Then they will know that I am the LORD, when I place My sword in the hand of Babylon's king, and he wields it against the land of Egypt.
