Jeremiah 27
Peshitta Holy Bible Translated Par ▾
1In the beginning of the Kingdom of Tsedeqiah, son of Yoshiah, King of Judea, this message was with Jeremiah from before LORD JEHOVAH, and he said: 2“Thus LORD JEHOVAH said to me, ‘Make for yourself a yoke and straps and put them on your neck 3And send them to the King of Edum and to the King of Moab and to the King of the children of Amon and to the King of Tsur and to the King of Tsidon by the hand of the Messengers who come to Jerusalem to Tsedeqia the King of Judea 4And command them that they would say to their Masters: ‘Thus says LORD JEHOVAH of Hosts God of Israel, so you will say to your masters: 5I have made the Earth and the children of men and the animals upon the face of the Earth by my great power and by my high arm, and I have given it to him who is beautiful in my eyes 6And now I have given all these lands to work for Nebukadnetsar, King of Babel, my Servant, and they shall work for him, also the animals of the wilderness I have given to him to work for him 7And the nations shall work for him, him and his son, and the son of his son, until the time of his land will arrive, even his, and the many nations and great Kings shall work for him

8And the people and the kingdom that will not serve Nebukadnetsar, King of Babel, and whoever will not put his neck into the yoke of the King of Babel, I shall adjudicate against that people by the sword, and with starvation and with plague, says LORD JEHOVAH, until I will hand them over into his hand 9And you shall not hear your lying Prophets and your Soothsayers and your Dreamers and your Enchanters and your Sorcerers, for they say to you: “You shall not serve the King of Babel!” 10Because they prophesy a lie to you, for I shall expel you from your land, for I shall expel you, and you shall be destroyed! 11And the people that puts its neck in the yoke of the King of Babel and will serve him, he will leave them in their land, says LORD JEHOVAH, and they shall serve him, and they shall dwell in it!”

12And I spoke to Tsedeqia, King of Judea, according to all these words, and I said: “Put your necks in the yoke of the King of Babel and work for him and his people, and live! 13And you shall not die, you and your people, by the sword, or by starvation, or by plague, as LORD JEHOVAH spoke against the people that will not serve the King of Babel 14And you shall not hear the word of the lying Prophets who say to you: ‘You shall not serve the King of Babel’, because they are prophesying lies to you! 15I have not sent them, says LORD JEHOVAH, and they prophesy in my name with falsehood, for I shall expel you, and you shall be destroyed, you and the Prophets who prophesy to you

16And to the Priests and to all this people, thus says LORD JEHOVAH: “Do not hear the words of your Prophets who prophesy to you, and they say, ‘Behold, the implements of the house of LORD JEHOVAH will return from Babel quickly’, because they prophesy a lie to you 17Do not listen to them, says LORD JEHOVAH. Serve the King of Babel and live, and this city will not be desolate 18And if they are Prophets and the word of LORD JEHOVAH is in them, they would beg of LORD JEHOVAH of Hosts that the implements that were left in his house of LORD JEHOVAH and in the house of the King of Judea and in Jerusalem will not go to Babel 19For thus says LORD JEHOVAH of Hosts, God of Israel, about the pillars and about the sea, and about the flasks and about the rest of the implements that were left in this city: 20Because Nebukadnetsar King of Babel had not taken them when he took Yokania, son of Yoaqim, King of Judea, captive from Jerusalem to Babel, and all the Princes of Judea and of Jerusalem 21So says LORD JEHOVAH of Hosts, God of Israel, about the implements that were left in his house of LORD JEHOVAH and in the house of the King of Judea and in Jerusalem 22They shall depart to Babel and there they shall be until the day that I will visit them, says LORD JEHOVAH, and I shall bring them up and I shall lead them to this region”
