The Lord said to Aaron - See Exodus 4:14. By some secret but powerful movement on Aaron's mind, or by some voice or angelic ministry, he was now directed to go and meet his brother Moses; and so correctly was the information given to both, that they arrived at the same time on the sacred mountain.

Now Moses was tending the flock of Jethro his father-in-law, the priest of Midian, and he led the flock to the far side of the wilderness and came to Horeb, the mountain of God.
Then the LORD's anger burned against Moses and he said, "What about your brother, Aaron the Levite? I know he can speak well. He is already on his way to meet you, and he will be glad to see you.
So the LORD let him alone. (At that time she said "bridegroom of blood," referring to circumcision.)
Jethro, Moses' father-in-law, together with Moses' sons and wife, came to him in the wilderness, where he was camped near the mountain of God.
So Moses went out to meet his father-in-law and bowed down and kissed him. They greeted each other and then went into the tent.
Then Moses set out with Joshua his aide, and Moses went up on the mountain of God.
