Didst send a plentiful rain - גשם נדבות geshem nedaboth, a shower of liberality. I believe this to refer to the manna by which God refreshed and preserved alive the weary and hungry Israelites.

But the land you are crossing the Jordan to take possession of is a land of mountains and valleys that drinks rain from heaven.
"When you, LORD, went out from Seir, when you marched from the land of Edom, the earth shook, the heavens poured, the clouds poured down water.
He provides rain for the earth; he sends water on the countryside.
