When Herod saw how much this pleased the Jewish people, he also arrested Peter. (This took place during the Passover celebration.)
So instead, they went on through Mysia to the seaport of Troas.
So we decided to leave for Macedonia at once, having concluded that God was calling us to preach the Good News there.
From there we reached Philippi, a major city of that district of Macedonia and a Roman colony. And we stayed there several days.
They went on ahead and waited for us at Troas.
Paul had decided to sail on past Ephesus, for he didn't want to spend any more time in the province of Asia. He was hurrying to get to Jerusalem, if possible, in time for the Festival of Pentecost.
