As it happened, Publius's father was ill with fever and dysentery. Paul went in and prayed for him, and laying his hands on him, he healed him.

As Jesus was saying this, the leader of a synagogue came and knelt before him. "My daughter has just died," he said, "but you can bring her back to life again if you just come and lay your hand on her."
Then he said to the man, "Hold out your hand." So the man held out his hand, and it was restored, just like the other one!
pleading fervently with him. "My little daughter is dying," he said. "Please come and lay your hands on her; heal her so she can live."
And because of their unbelief, he couldn't do any miracles among them except to place his hands on a few sick people and heal them.
But Peter asked them all to leave the room; then he knelt and prayed. Turning to the body he said, "Get up, Tabitha." And she opened her eyes! When she saw Peter, she sat up!
Near the shore where we landed was an estate belonging to Publius, the chief official of the island. He welcomed us and treated us kindly for three days.
Then all the other sick people on the island came and were healed.
