Meditations Before Dinner and Supper.
Listen to my voice in the morning, LORD. Each morning I bring my requests to you and wait expectantly.
I listen carefully to what God the LORD is saying, for he speaks peace to his faithful people. But let them not return to their foolish ways.
Then the watchman called out, "Day after day I have stood on the watchtower, my lord. Night after night I have remained at my post.
I posted watchmen over you who said, 'Listen for the sound of the alarm.' But you replied, 'No! We won't pay attention!'
"Son of man, I have appointed you as a watchman for Israel. Whenever you receive a message from me, warn people immediately.
As for me, I look to the LORD for help. I wait confidently for God to save me, and my God will certainly hear me.
