Micah must have been a very striking personality. Now there was a man named Naboth, from Jezreel, who owned a vineyard in Jezreel beside the palace of King Ahab of Samaria.
What sorrow for you who buy up house after house and field after field, until everyone is evicted and you live alone in the land.
"But you! You have eyes only for greed and dishonesty! You murder the innocent, oppress the poor, and reign ruthlessly."
"Have you seen this, son of man?" he asked. "Is it nothing to the people of Judah that they commit these detestable sins, leading the whole nation into violence, thumbing their noses at me, and provoking my anger?
"But now I clap my hands in indignation over your dishonest gain and bloodshed.
Murderers! Idolaters! Adulterers! Should the land belong to you?'
And the prince may never take anyone's property by force. If he gives property to his sons, it must be from his own land, for I do not want any of my people unjustly evicted from their property."
