The LORD continued, "Look, stand near me on this rock.
A psalm of David. Who may worship in your sanctuary, LORD? Who may enter your presence on your holy hill?
Guard me as you would guard your own eyes. Hide me in the shadow of your wings.
You hide them in the shelter of your presence, safe from those who conspire against them. You shelter them in your presence, far from accusing tongues.
He lifted me out of the pit of despair, out of the mud and the mire. He set my feet on solid ground and steadied me as I walked along.
For the choir director: A psalm of David. Oh, the joys of those who are kind to the poor! The LORD rescues them when they are in trouble.
Then call on me when you are in trouble, and I will rescue you, and you will give me glory."
