Psalm 53
BSB Parallel ESV [BSB CSB ESV HCS KJV ISV NAS NET NIV NLT HEB]
Berean Study BibleEnglish Standard Version
1For the choirmaster. According to Mahalath. A Maskil of David. The fool says in his heart, “There is no God.” They are corrupt; their ways are vile. There is no one who does good.1The fool says in his heart, “There is no God.” They are corrupt, doing abominable iniquity; there is none who does good.
2God looks down from heaven upon the sons of men to see if any understand, if any seek God.2God looks down from heaven on the children of man to see if there are any who understand, who seek after God.
3All have turned away, they have together become corrupt; there is no one who does good, not even one.3They have all fallen away; together they have become corrupt; there is none who does good, not even one.
4Will the workers of iniquity never learn? They devour my people like bread; they refuse to call upon God.4Have those who work evil no knowledge, who eat up my people as they eat bread, and do not call upon God?
5There they are, overwhelmed with dread, where there was nothing to fear. For God has scattered the bones of those who besieged you. You put them to shame, for God has despised them.5There they are, in great terror, where there is no terror! For God scatters the bones of him who encamps against you; you put them to shame, for God has rejected them.
6Oh, that the salvation of Israel would come from Zion! When God restores His captive people, let Jacob rejoice, let Israel be glad!6Oh, that salvation for Israel would come out of Zion! When God restores the fortunes of his people, let Jacob rejoice, let Israel be glad.
