A song of ascents. I lift up my eyes to the hills. From where does my help come?1A song of ascents. I lift my eyes toward the mountains. Where will my help come from?
My help comes from the LORD, the Maker of heaven and earth.2My help comes from the LORD, the Maker of heaven and earth.
He will not allow your foot to slip; your Protector will not slumber.3He will not allow your foot to slip; your Protector will not slumber.
Behold, the Protector of Israel will neither slumber nor sleep.4Indeed, the Protector of Israel does not slumber or sleep.
The LORD is your keeper; the LORD is the shade on your right hand.5The LORD protects you; the LORD is a shelter right by your side.
The sun will not strike you by day, nor the moon by night.6The sun will not strike you by day or the moon by night.
The LORD will guard you from all evil; He will preserve your soul.7The LORD will protect you from all harm; He will protect your life.
The LORD will watch over your coming and going, both now and forevermore.8The LORD will protect your coming and going both now and forever.
