Psalm 144
BSB Parallel NLT [BSB CSB ESV HCS KJV ISV NAS NET NIV NLT HEB]
Berean Study BibleNew Living Translation
Of David. Blessed be the LORD, my Rock, who trains my hands for war, my fingers for battle.1Praise the LORD, who is my rock. He trains my hands for war and gives my fingers skill for battle.
He is my steadfast love and my fortress, my stronghold and my deliverer. He is my shield, in whom I take refuge, who subdues peoples under me.2He is my loving ally and my fortress, my tower of safety, my rescuer. He is my shield, and I take refuge in him. He makes the nations submit to me.
O LORD, what is man, that You regard him, the son of man that You think of him?3O LORD, what are human beings that you should notice them, mere mortals that you should think about them?
Man is like a breath; his days are like a passing shadow.4For they are like a breath of air; their days are like a passing shadow.
Part Your heavens, O LORD, and come down; touch the mountains, that they may smoke.5Open the heavens, LORD, and come down. Touch the mountains so they billow smoke.
Flash forth Your lightning and scatter them; shoot Your arrows and rout them.6Hurl your lightning bolts and scatter your enemies! Shoot your arrows and confuse them!
Reach down from on high; set me free and rescue me from the deep waters, from the grasp of foreigners,7Reach down from heaven and rescue me; rescue me from deep waters, from the power of my enemies.
whose mouths speak falsehood, whose right hands are deceitful.8Their mouths are full of lies; they swear to tell the truth, but they lie instead.
I will sing to You a new song, O God; on a harp of ten strings I will make music to You—9I will sing a new song to you, O God! I will sing your praises with a ten-stringed harp.
to Him who gives victory to kings, who frees His servant David from the deadly sword.10For you grant victory to kings! You rescued your servant David from the fatal sword.
Set me free and rescue me from the grasp of foreigners, whose mouths speak falsehood, whose right hands are deceitful.11Save me! Rescue me from the power of my enemies. Their mouths are full of lies; they swear to tell the truth, but they lie instead.
Then our sons will be like plants nurtured in their youth, our daughters like corner pillars carved to adorn a palace.12May our sons flourish in their youth like well-nurtured plants. May our daughters be like graceful pillars, carved to beautify a palace.
Our storehouses will be full, supplying all manner of produce; our flocks will bring forth thousands, tens of thousands in our fields.13May our barns be filled with crops of every kind. May the flocks in our fields multiply by the thousands, even tens of thousands,
Our oxen will bear great loads. There will be no breach in the walls, no going into captivity, and no cry of lament in our streets.14and may our oxen be loaded down with produce. May there be no enemy breaking through our walls, no going into captivity, no cries of alarm in our town squares.
Blessed are the people of whom this is so; blessed are the people whose God is the LORD.15Yes, joyful are those who live like this! Joyful indeed are those whose God is the LORD.
