Psalm 132
CSB Parallel ISV [BSB CSB ESV HCS KJV ISV NAS NET NIV NLT HEB]
Christian Standard BibleInternational Standard Version
LORD, remember David and all the hardships he endured,1LORD, remember in David's favor all of his troubles;
and how he swore an oath to the LORD, making a vow to the Mighty One of Jacob:2how he swore an oath to the LORD, vowing to the Mighty One of Jacob,
"I will not enter my house or get into my bed,3"I will not enter my house, or lie down on my bed,
I will not allow my eyes to sleep or my eyelids to slumber4or let myself go to sleep or even take a nap,
until I find a place for the LORD, a dwelling for the Mighty One of Jacob."5until I locate a place for the LORD, a dwelling place for the Mighty One of Jacob."
We heard of the ark in Ephrathah; we found it in the fields of Jaar.6We heard about it in Ephrata; we found it in the fields of Jaar.
Let us go to his dwelling place; let us worship at his footstool.7Let's go to his dwelling place and worship at his footstool.
Rise up, LORD, come to your resting place, you and your powerful ark.8Arise, LORD, and go to your resting place, you and the ark of your strength.
May your priests be clothed with righteousness, and may your faithful people shout for joy.9May your priests be clothed with righteousness and may your godly ones shout for joy.
For the sake of your servant David, do not reject your anointed one.10For the sake of your servant David, don't turn away the face of your anointed one.
The LORD swore an oath to David, a promise he will not abandon: "I will set one of your offspring on your throne.11The LORD made an oath to David from which he will not retreat: "One of your sons I will set in place on your throne.
If your sons keep my covenant and my decrees that I will teach them, their sons will also sit on your throne forever."12If your sons keep my covenant and my statutes that I will teach them, then their sons will also sit on your throne forever."
For the LORD has chosen Zion; he has desired it for his home:13For the LORD has chosen Zion, desiring it as his dwelling place.
"This is my resting place forever; I will make my home here because I have desired it.14"This is my resting place forever. Here I will live, because I desire to do so.
I will abundantly bless its food; I will satisfy its needy with bread.15I will bless its provisions abundantly; I will satiate its poor with food.
I will clothe its priests with salvation, and its faithful people will shout for joy.16I will clothe its priests with salvation and its godly ones will shout for joy.
There I will make a horn grow for David; I have prepared a lamp for my anointed one.17There I will create a power base for David— I have prepared a lamp for my anointed one.
I will clothe his enemies with shame, but the crown he wears will be glorious."18I will clothe his enemies with disgrace, but on him his crown will shine."
