God, save me by your name, and vindicate me by your might!1To the chief Musician on Neginoth, Maschil, A Psalm of David, when the Ziphims came and said to Saul, Doth not David hide himself with us? Save me, O God, by thy name, and judge me by thy strength.
God, hear my prayer; listen to the words from my mouth.2Hear my prayer, O God; give ear to the words of my mouth.
For strangers rise up against me, and violent men intend to kill me. They do not let God guide them. Selah3For strangers are risen up against me, and oppressors seek after my soul: they have not set God before them. Selah.
God is my helper; the Lord is the sustainer of my life.4Behold, God is mine helper: the Lord is with them that uphold my soul.
He will repay my adversaries for their evil. Because of your faithfulness, annihilate them.5He shall reward evil unto mine enemies: cut them off in thy truth.
I will sacrifice a freewill offering to you. I will praise your name, LORD, because it is good.6I will freely sacrifice unto thee: I will praise thy name, O LORD; for it is good.
For he has rescued me from every trouble, and my eye has looked down on my enemies.7For he hath delivered me out of all trouble: and mine eye hath seen his desire upon mine enemies.
