Christian Standard BibleNET Bible
I will not keep silent because of Zion, and I will not keep still because of Jerusalem, until her righteousness shines like a bright light and her salvation, like a flaming torch.1"For the sake of Zion I will not be silent; for the sake of Jerusalem I will not be quiet, until her vindication shines brightly and her deliverance burns like a torch."
Nations will see your righteousness and all kings, your glory. You will be given a new name that the LORD's mouth will announce.2Nations will see your vindication, and all kings your splendor. You will be called by a new name that the LORD himself will give you.
You will be a glorious crown in the LORD's hand, and a royal diadem in the palm of your God's hand.3You will be a majestic crown in the hand of the LORD, a royal turban in the hand of your God.
You will no longer be called Deserted, and your land will not be called Desolate; instead, you will be called My Delight Is in Her, and your land Married; for the LORD delights in you, and your land will be married.4You will no longer be called, "Abandoned," and your land will no longer be called "Desolate." Indeed, you will be called "My Delight is in Her," and your land "Married." For the LORD will take delight in you, and your land will be married to him.
For as a young man marries a young woman, so your sons will marry you; and as a groom rejoices over his bride, so your God will rejoice over you.5As a young man marries a young woman, so your sons will marry you. As a bridegroom rejoices over a bride, so your God will rejoice over you.
Jerusalem, I have appointed watchmen on your walls; they will never be silent, day or night. There is no rest for you, who remind the LORD.6I post watchmen on your walls, O Jerusalem; they should keep praying all day and all night. You who pray to the LORD, don't be silent!
Do not give him rest until he establishes and makes Jerusalem the praise of the earth.7Don't allow him to rest until he reestablishes Jerusalem, until he makes Jerusalem the pride of the earth.
The LORD has sworn with his right hand and his strong arm: I will no longer give your grain to your enemies for food, and foreigners will not drink the new wine for which you have labored.8The LORD swears an oath by his right hand, by his strong arm: "I will never again give your grain to your enemies as food, and foreigners will not drink your wine, which you worked hard to produce.
For those who gather grain will eat it and praise the LORD, and those who harvest the grapes will drink the wine in my holy courts.9But those who harvest the grain will eat it, and will praise the LORD. Those who pick the grapes will drink the wine in the courts of my holy sanctuary."
Go out, go out through the city gates; prepare a way for the people! Build it up, build up the highway; clear away the stones! Raise a banner for the peoples.10Come through! Come through the gates! Prepare the way for the people! Build it! Build the roadway! Remove the stones! Lift a signal flag for the nations!
Look, the LORD has proclaimed to the ends of the earth, "Say to Daughter Zion: Look, your salvation is coming, his wages are with him, and his reward accompanies him."11Look, the LORD announces to the entire earth: "Say to Daughter Zion, 'Look, your deliverer comes! Look, his reward is with him and his reward goes before him!'"
And they will be called the Holy People, the LORD's Redeemed; and you will be called Cared For, A City Not Deserted.12They will be called, "The Holy People, the Ones Protected by the LORD." You will be called, "Sought After, City Not Abandoned."
