God arises. His enemies scatter, and those who hate him flee from his presence.1For the music director; by David, a psalm, a song. God springs into action! His enemies scatter; his adversaries run from him.
As smoke is blown away, so you blow them away. As wax melts before the fire, so the wicked are destroyed before God.2As smoke is driven away by the wind, so you drive them away. As wax melts before fire, so the wicked are destroyed before God.
But the righteous are glad; they rejoice before God and celebrate with joy.3But the godly are happy; they rejoice before God and are overcome with joy.
Sing to God! Sing praises to his name. Exalt him who rides on the clouds-- his name is the LORD--and celebrate before him.4Sing to God! Sing praises to his name! Exalt the one who rides on the clouds! For the LORD is his name! Rejoice before him!
God in his holy dwelling is a father of the fatherless and a champion of widows.5He is a father to the fatherless and an advocate for widows. God rules from his holy palace.
God provides homes for those who are deserted. He leads out the prisoners to prosperity, but the rebellious live in a scorched land.6God settles those who have been deserted in their own homes; he frees prisoners and grants them prosperity. But sinful rebels live in the desert.
God, when you went out before your people, when you marched through the desert, Selah7O God, when you lead your people into battle, when you march through the desert, (Selah)
the earth trembled and the skies poured rain before God, the God of Sinai, before God, the God of Israel.8the earth shakes, yes, the heavens pour down rain before God, the God of Sinai, before God, the God of Israel.
You, God, showered abundant rain; you revived your inheritance when it languished.9O God, you cause abundant showers to fall on your chosen people. When they are tired, you sustain them,
Your people settled in it; God, you provided for the poor by your goodness.10for you live among them. You sustain the oppressed with your good blessings, O God.
The Lord gave the command; a great company of women brought the good news:11The Lord speaks; many, many women spread the good news.
"The kings of the armies flee--they flee!" She who stays at home divides the spoil.12Kings leading armies run away--they run away! The lovely lady of the house divides up the loot.
While you lie among the sheep pens, the wings of a dove are covered with silver, and its feathers with glistening gold.13When you lie down among the sheepfolds, the wings of the dove are covered with silver and with glittering gold.
When the Almighty scattered kings in the land, it snowed on Zalmon.14When the sovereign judge scatters kings, let it snow on Zalmon!
Mount Bashan is God's towering mountain; Mount Bashan is a mountain of many peaks.15The mountain of Bashan is a towering mountain; the mountain of Bashan is a mountain with many peaks.
Why gaze with envy, you mountain peaks, at the mountain God desired for his abode? The LORD will dwell there forever!16Why do you look with envy, O mountains with many peaks, at the mountain where God has decided to live? Indeed the LORD will live there permanently!
God's chariots are tens of thousands, thousands and thousands; the Lord is among them in the sanctuary as he was at Sinai.17God has countless chariots; they number in the thousands. The Lord comes from Sinai in holy splendor.
You ascended to the heights, taking away captives; you received gifts from people, even from the rebellious, so that the LORD God might dwell there.18You ascend on high, you have taken many captives. You receive tribute from men, including even sinful rebels. Indeed the LORD God lives there!
Blessed be the Lord! Day after day he bears our burdens; God is our salvation. Selah19The Lord deserves praise! Day after day he carries our burden, the God who delivers us. (Selah)
Our God is a God of salvation, and escape from death belongs to the LORD my Lord.20Our God is a God who delivers; the LORD, the sovereign Lord, can rescue from death.
Surely God crushes the heads of his enemies, the hairy brow of one who goes on in his guilty acts.21Indeed God strikes the heads of his enemies, the hairy foreheads of those who persist in rebellion.
The Lord said, "I will bring them back from Bashan; I will bring them back from the depths of the sea22The Lord says, "I will retrieve them from Bashan, I will bring them back from the depths of the sea,
so that your foot may wade in blood and your dogs' tongues may have their share from the enemies."23so that your feet may stomp in their blood, and your dogs may eat their portion of the enemies' corpses."

Bless God in the assemblies; bless the LORD from the fountain of Israel.26In your large assemblies praise God, the LORD, in the assemblies of Israel!
There is Benjamin, the youngest, leading them, the rulers of Judah in their assembly, the rulers of Zebulun, the rulers of Naphtali.27There is little Benjamin, their ruler, and the princes of Judah in their robes, along with the princes of Zebulun and the princes of Naphtali.
Your God has decreed your strength. Show your strength, God, you who have acted on our behalf.28God has decreed that you will be powerful. O God, you who have acted on our behalf, demonstrate your power,
Because of your temple at Jerusalem, kings will bring tribute to you.29as you come out of your temple in Jerusalem! Kings bring tribute to you.
Rebuke the beast in the reeds, the herd of bulls with the calves of the peoples. Trample underfoot those with bars of silver. Scatter the peoples who take pleasure in war.30Sound your battle cry against the wild beast of the reeds, and the nations that assemble like a herd of calves led by bulls!
