Psalm 45
ESV Parallel BSB [BSB CSB ESV HCS KJV ISV NAS NET NIV NLT HEB]
English Standard VersionBerean Study Bible
My heart overflows with a pleasing theme; I address my verses to the king; my tongue is like the pen of a ready scribe.1For the choirmaster. To the tune of “The Lilies.” A Maskil of the sons of Korah. A love song. My heart is stirred by a noble theme as I recite my verses to the king; my tongue is the pen of a skillful writer.
You are the most handsome of the sons of men; grace is poured upon your lips; therefore God has blessed you forever.2You are the most handsome of men; grace has anointed your lips, since God has blessed you forever.
Gird your sword on your thigh, O mighty one, in your splendor and majesty!3Strap your sword at your side, O mighty warrior; appear in your majesty and splendor.
In your majesty ride out victoriously for the cause of truth and meekness and righteousness; let your right hand teach you awesome deeds!4In your splendor ride forth in victory on behalf of truth and humility and justice; may your right hand show your awesome deeds.
Your arrows are sharp in the heart of the king’s enemies; the peoples fall under you.5Your arrows pierce the hearts of the king’s foes; the nations fall beneath your feet.
Your throne, O God, is forever and ever. The scepter of your kingdom is a scepter of uprightness;6Your throne, O God, endures forever and ever, and justice is the scepter of Your kingdom.
you have loved righteousness and hated wickedness. Therefore God, your God, has anointed you with the oil of gladness beyond your companions;7You have loved righteousness and hated wickedness; therefore God, your God, has anointed you above your companions with the oil of joy.
your robes are all fragrant with myrrh and aloes and cassia. From ivory palaces stringed instruments make you glad;8All your garments are fragrant with myrrh and aloes and cassia; from palaces of ivory the harps make you glad.
daughters of kings are among your ladies of honor; at your right hand stands the queen in gold of Ophir.9The daughters of kings are among your honored women; the queen stands at your right hand, adorned with the gold of Ophir.
Hear, O daughter, and consider, and incline your ear: forget your people and your father’s house,10Listen, O daughter! Consider and incline your ear: Forget your people and your father’s house,
and the king will desire your beauty. Since he is your lord, bow to him.11and the king will desire your beauty; bow to him, for he is your lord.
The people of Tyre will seek your favor with gifts, the richest of the people.12The Daughter of Tyre will come with a gift; men of wealth will seek your favor.
All glorious is the princess in her chamber, with robes interwoven with gold.13All glorious is the princess in her chamber; her gown is embroidered with gold.
In many-colored robes she is led to the king, with her virgin companions following behind her.14In colorful garments she is led to the king; her virgin companions are brought before you.
With joy and gladness they are led along as they enter the palace of the king.15They are led in with joy and gladness; they enter the palace of the king.
In place of your fathers shall be your sons; you will make them princes in all the earth.16Your sons will succeed your fathers; you will make them princes throughout the land.
I will cause your name to be remembered in all generations; therefore nations will praise you forever and ever.17I will commemorate your name through all generations; therefore the nations will praise you forever and ever.
