Psalm 149
HCSB Parallel ISV [BSB CSB ESV HCS KJV ISV NAS NET NIV NLT HEB]
Holman Christian Standard BibleInternational Standard Version
1Hallelujah! Sing to the LORD a new song, His praise in the assembly of the godly. 1Hallelujah! Sing a new song to the LORD, praising him where the godly gather together.
2Let Israel celebrate its Maker; let the children of Zion rejoice in their King. 2May Israel rejoice in its Maker, and Zion's descendants in their King!
3Let them praise His name with dancing and make music to Him with tambourine and lyre. 3May they praise his name with dancing, chanting songs to him with tambourines and lyres.
4For Yahweh takes pleasure in His people; He adorns the humble with salvation. 4For the LORD is pleased with his people; he beautifies the afflicted with salvation.
5Let the godly celebrate in triumphal glory; let them shout for joy on their beds. 5May those he loves be exalted, singing for joy on their couches.
6Let the exaltation of God be in their mouths and a double-edged sword in their hands, 6Let high praises to God be heard in their throats, while they wield two-edged swords in their hands
7inflicting vengeance on the nations and punishment on the peoples, 7as they bring retribution to nations and punishment to peoples,
8binding their kings with chains and their dignitaries with iron shackles, 8binding their kings with chains, their officials with iron bands,
9carrying out the judgment decreed against them. This honor is for all His godly people. Hallelujah! 9and executing the judgment written against them. This is honor for all the ones he loves. Hallelujah!
