Psalm 149
HCSB Parallel NIV [BSB CSB ESV HCS KJV ISV NAS NET NIV NLT HEB]
Holman Christian Standard BibleNew International Version
1Hallelujah! Sing to the LORD a new song, His praise in the assembly of the godly. 1Praise the LORD. Sing to the LORD a new song, his praise in the assembly of his faithful people.
2Let Israel celebrate its Maker; let the children of Zion rejoice in their King. 2Let Israel rejoice in their Maker; let the people of Zion be glad in their King.
3Let them praise His name with dancing and make music to Him with tambourine and lyre. 3Let them praise his name with dancing and make music to him with timbrel and harp.
4For Yahweh takes pleasure in His people; He adorns the humble with salvation. 4For the LORD takes delight in his people; he crowns the humble with victory.
5Let the godly celebrate in triumphal glory; let them shout for joy on their beds. 5Let his faithful people rejoice in this honor and sing for joy on their beds.
6Let the exaltation of God be in their mouths and a double-edged sword in their hands, 6May the praise of God be in their mouths and a double-edged sword in their hands,
7inflicting vengeance on the nations and punishment on the peoples, 7to inflict vengeance on the nations and punishment on the peoples,
8binding their kings with chains and their dignitaries with iron shackles, 8to bind their kings with fetters, their nobles with shackles of iron,
9carrying out the judgment decreed against them. This honor is for all His godly people. Hallelujah! 9to carry out the sentence written against them-- this is the glory of all his faithful people. Praise the LORD.
