After the Sabbath, as the first day of the week was dawning, Mary Magdalene and the other Mary went to view the tomb. 1In the end of the sabbath, as it began to dawn toward the first day of the week, came Mary Magdalene and the other Mary to see the sepulchre.
Suddenly there was a violent earthquake, because an angel of the Lord descended from heaven and approached the tomb. He rolled back the stone and was sitting on it.2And, behold, there was a great earthquake: for the angel of the Lord descended from heaven, and came and rolled back the stone from the door, and sat upon it.
His appearance was like lightning, and his robe was as white as snow.3His countenance was like lightning, and his raiment white as snow:
The guards were so shaken from fear of him that they became like dead men. 4And for fear of him the keepers did shake, and became as dead men.
But the angel told the women, "Don't be afraid, because I know you are looking for Jesus who was crucified.5And the angel answered and said unto the women, Fear not ye: for I know that ye seek Jesus, which was crucified.
He is not here! For He has been resurrected, just as He said. Come and see the place where He lay.6He is not here: for he is risen, as he said. Come, see the place where the Lord lay.
Then go quickly and tell His disciples, 'He has been raised from the dead. In fact, He is going ahead of you to Galilee; you will see Him there.' Listen, I have told you." 7And go quickly, and tell his disciples that he is risen from the dead; and, behold, he goeth before you into Galilee; there shall ye see him: lo, I have told you.
So, departing quickly from the tomb with fear and great joy, they ran to tell His disciples the news. 8And they departed quickly from the sepulchre with fear and great joy; and did run to bring his disciples word.
Just then Jesus met them and said, "Good morning!" They came up, took hold of His feet, and worshiped Him.9And as they went to tell his disciples, behold, Jesus met them, saying, All hail. And they came and held him by the feet, and worshipped him.
Then Jesus told them, "Do not be afraid. Go and tell My brothers to leave for Galilee, and they will see Me there." 10Then said Jesus unto them, Be not afraid: go tell my brethren that they go into Galilee, and there shall they see me.
As they were on their way, some of the guards came into the city and reported to the chief priests everything that had happened. 11Now when they were going, behold, some of the watch came into the city, and shewed unto the chief priests all the things that were done.
After the priests had assembled with the elders and agreed on a plan, they gave the soldiers a large sum of money12And when they were assembled with the elders, and had taken counsel, they gave large money unto the soldiers,
and told them, "Say this, 'His disciples came during the night and stole Him while we were sleeping.'13Saying, Say ye, His disciples came by night, and stole him away while we slept.
If this reaches the governor's ears, we will deal with him and keep you out of trouble."14And if this come to the governor's ears, we will persuade him, and secure you.
So they took the money and did as they were instructed. And this story has been spread among Jewish people to this day. 15So they took the money, and did as they were taught: and this saying is commonly reported among the Jews until this day.
The 11 disciples traveled to Galilee, to the mountain where Jesus had directed them.16Then the eleven disciples went away into Galilee, into a mountain where Jesus had appointed them.
When they saw Him, they worshiped, but some doubted. 17And when they saw him, they worshipped him: but some doubted.
Then Jesus came near and said to them, "All authority has been given to Me in heaven and on earth.18And Jesus came and spake unto them, saying, All power is given unto me in heaven and in earth.
Go, therefore, and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, 19Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost:
teaching them to observe everything I have commanded you. And remember, I am with you always, to the end of the age." 20Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and, lo, I am with you alway, even unto the end of the world. Amen.
