Holman Christian Standard BibleNew American Standard Bible 1995
Hallelujah! How good it is to sing to our God, for praise is pleasant and lovely. 1Praise the LORD! For it is good to sing praises to our God; For it is pleasant and praise is becoming.
The LORD rebuilds Jerusalem; He gathers Israel's exiled people. 2The LORD builds up Jerusalem; He gathers the outcasts of Israel.
He heals the brokenhearted and binds up their wounds. 3He heals the brokenhearted And binds up their wounds.
He counts the number of the stars; He gives names to all of them. 4He counts the number of the stars; He gives names to all of them.
Our Lord is great, vast in power; His understanding is infinite. 5Great is our Lord and abundant in strength; His understanding is infinite.
The LORD helps the afflicted but brings the wicked to the ground. 6The LORD supports the afflicted; He brings down the wicked to the ground.
Sing to the LORD with thanksgiving; play the lyre to our God, 7Sing to the LORD with thanksgiving; Sing praises to our God on the lyre,
who covers the sky with clouds, prepares rain for the earth, and causes grass to grow on the hills. 8Who covers the heavens with clouds, Who provides rain for the earth, Who makes grass to grow on the mountains.
He provides the animals with their food, and the young ravens, what they cry for. 9He gives to the beast its food, And to the young ravens which cry.
He is not impressed by the strength of a horse; He does not value the power of a man. 10He does not delight in the strength of the horse; He does not take pleasure in the legs of a man.
The LORD values those who fear Him, those who put their hope in His faithful love. 11The LORD favors those who fear Him, Those who wait for His lovingkindness.
Exalt the LORD, Jerusalem; praise your God, Zion! 12Praise the LORD, O Jerusalem! Praise your God, O Zion!
For He strengthens the bars of your gates and blesses your children within you. 13For He has strengthened the bars of your gates; He has blessed your sons within you.
He endows your territory with prosperity; He satisfies you with the finest wheat. 14He makes peace in your borders; He satisfies you with the finest of the wheat.
He sends His command throughout the earth; His word runs swiftly. 15He sends forth His command to the earth; His word runs very swiftly.
He spreads snow like wool; He scatters frost like ashes; 16He gives snow like wool; He scatters the frost like ashes.
He throws His hailstones like crumbs. Who can withstand His cold? 17He casts forth His ice as fragments; Who can stand before His cold?
He sends His word and melts them; He unleashes His winds, and the waters flow. 18He sends forth His word and melts them; He causes His wind to blow and the waters to flow.
He declares His word to Jacob, His statutes and judgments to Israel. 19He declares His words to Jacob, His statutes and His ordinances to Israel.
He has not done this for any nation; they do not know His judgments. Hallelujah! 20He has not dealt thus with any nation; And as for His ordinances, they have not known them. Praise the LORD!
