Psalm 1
HCSB Parallel NET [BSB CSB ESV HCS KJV ISV NAS NET NIV NLT HEB]
Holman Christian Standard BibleNET Bible
1How happy is the man who does not follow the advice of the wicked or take the path of sinners or join a group of mockers! 1How blessed is the one who does not follow the advice of the wicked, or stand in the pathway with sinners, or sit in the assembly of scoffers!
2Instead, his delight is in the LORD's instruction, and he meditates on it day and night. 2Instead he finds pleasure in obeying the LORD's commands; he meditates on his commands day and night.
3He is like a tree planted beside streams of water that bears its fruit in season and whose leaf does not wither. Whatever he does prospers. 3He is like a tree planted by flowing streams; it yields its fruit at the proper time, and its leaves never fall off. He succeeds in everything he attempts.
4The wicked are not like this; instead, they are like chaff that the wind blows away. 4Not so with the wicked! Instead they are like wind-driven chaff.
5Therefore the wicked will not survive the judgment, and sinners will not be in the community of the righteous. 5For this reason the wicked cannot withstand judgment, nor can sinners join the assembly of the godly.
6For the LORD watches over the way of the righteous, but the way of the wicked leads to ruin. 6Certainly the LORD guards the way of the godly, but the way of the wicked ends in destruction.
