Psalm 1
HCSB Parallel NLT [BSB CSB ESV HCS KJV ISV NAS NET NIV NLT HEB]
Holman Christian Standard BibleNew Living Translation
1How happy is the man who does not follow the advice of the wicked or take the path of sinners or join a group of mockers! 1Oh, the joys of those who do not follow the advice of the wicked, or stand around with sinners, or join in with mockers.
2Instead, his delight is in the LORD's instruction, and he meditates on it day and night. 2But they delight in the law of the LORD, meditating on it day and night.
3He is like a tree planted beside streams of water that bears its fruit in season and whose leaf does not wither. Whatever he does prospers. 3They are like trees planted along the riverbank, bearing fruit each season. Their leaves never wither, and they prosper in all they do.
4The wicked are not like this; instead, they are like chaff that the wind blows away. 4But not the wicked! They are like worthless chaff, scattered by the wind.
5Therefore the wicked will not survive the judgment, and sinners will not be in the community of the righteous. 5They will be condemned at the time of judgment. Sinners will have no place among the godly.
6For the LORD watches over the way of the righteous, but the way of the wicked leads to ruin. 6For the LORD watches over the path of the godly, but the path of the wicked leads to destruction.
