| 2I said to Yahweh, "You are my Lord; I have nothing good besides You." | 2I say to the LORD, "You are the Lord, my only source of well-being." |
| 3As for the holy people who are in the land, they are the noble ones. All my delight is in them. | 3As for God's chosen people who are in the land, and the leading officials I admired so much-- |
| 4The sorrows of those who take another god for themselves will multiply; I will not pour out their drink offerings of blood, and I will not speak their names with my lips. | 4their troubles multiply, they desire other gods. I will not pour out drink offerings of blood to their gods, nor will I make vows in the name of their gods. |
| 5 LORD, You are my portion and my cup of blessing; You hold my future. | 5LORD, you give me stability and prosperity; you make my future secure. |
| 6The boundary lines have fallen for me in pleasant places; indeed, I have a beautiful inheritance. | 6It is as if I have been given fertile fields or received a beautiful tract of land. |
