1I commend to you our sister Phoebe, who is a servant of the church in Cenchreae.1I commend to you our sister Phoebe, a deacon of the church in Cenchreae.
2So you should welcome her in the Lord in a manner worthy of the saints and assist her in whatever matter she may require your help. For indeed she has been a benefactor of many--and of me also. 2I ask you to receive her in the Lord in a way worthy of his people and to give her any help she may need from you, for she has been the benefactor of many people, including me.
3Give my greetings to Prisca and Aquila, my coworkers in Christ Jesus,3Greet Priscilla and Aquila, my co-workers in Christ Jesus.
4who risked their own necks for my life. Not only do I thank them, but so do all the Gentile churches. 4They risked their lives for me. Not only I but all the churches of the Gentiles are grateful to them.

17Now I urge you, brothers, to watch out for those who cause dissensions and obstacles contrary to the doctrine you have learned. 18for such people do not serve our Lord Christ but their own appetites. They deceive the hearts of the unsuspecting with smooth talk and flattering words. 18For such people are not serving our Lord Christ, but their own appetites. By smooth talk and flattery they deceive the minds of naive people.
19The report of your obedience has reached everyone. Therefore I rejoice over you.
