| 3From the rising of the sun to its setting, let the name of Yahweh be praised. | 3Everywhere—from east to west— praise the name of the LORD. |
| 4Yahweh is exalted above all the nations, His glory above the heavens. | 4For the LORD is high above the nations; his glory is higher than the heavens. |
| 5Who is like Yahweh our God-- the One enthroned on high, | 5Who can be compared with the LORD our God, who is enthroned on high? |
| 6who stoops down to look on the heavens and the earth? | 6He stoops to look down on heaven and on earth. |
| 7He raises the poor from the dust and lifts the needy from the garbage pile | 7He lifts the poor from the dust and the needy from the garbage dump. |
| 8in order to seat them with nobles-- with the nobles of His people. | 8He sets them among princes, even the princes of his own people! |
