Psalm 138
HCSB Parallel NLT [BSB CSB ESV HCS KJV ISV NAS NET NIV NLT HEB]
Holman Christian Standard BibleNew Living Translation
1Davidic. I will give You thanks with all my heart; I will sing Your praise before the heavenly beings. 1I give you thanks, O LORD, with all my heart; I will sing your praises before the gods.
2I will bow down toward Your holy temple and give thanks to Your name for Your constant love and truth. You have exalted Your name and Your promise above everything else. 2I bow before your holy Temple as I worship. I praise your name for your unfailing love and faithfulness; for your promises are backed by all the honor of your name.
3On the day I called, You answered me; You increased strength within me. 3As soon as I pray, you answer me; you encourage me by giving me strength.
4All the kings on earth will give You thanks, LORD, when they hear what You have promised. 4Every king in all the earth will thank you, LORD, for all of them will hear your words.
5They will sing of the LORD's ways, for the LORD's glory is great. 5Yes, they will sing about the LORD’s ways, for the glory of the LORD is very great.
6Though the LORD is exalted, He takes note of the humble; but He knows the haughty from a distance. 6Though the LORD is great, he cares for the humble, but he keeps his distance from the proud.
7If I walk into the thick of danger, You will preserve my life from the anger of my enemies. You will extend Your hand; Your right hand will save me. 7Though I am surrounded by troubles, you will protect me from the anger of my enemies. You reach out your hand, and the power of your right hand saves me.
8The LORD will fulfill His purpose for me. LORD, Your love is eternal; do not abandon the work of Your hands. 8The LORD will work out his plans for my life— for your faithful love, O LORD, endures forever. Don’t abandon me, for you made me.
