International Standard VersionBerean Study Bible
How lovely are your dwelling places, LORD of the Heavenly Armies.1For the choirmaster. According to Gittith. A Psalm of the sons of Korah. How lovely is Your dwelling place, O LORD of Hosts!
I desire and long for the Temple courts of the LORD. My heart and body sing for joy to the living God. 2My soul longs, even faints, for the courts of the LORD; my heart and my flesh cry out for the living God.
Even the sparrow found a house for herself and the swallow a nest to lay her young at your altar, LORD of the Heavenly Armies, my king and God.3Even the sparrow has found a home, and the swallow a nest for herself, where she places her young near Your altars, O LORD of Hosts, my King and my God.
How happy are those who live in your Temple, for they can praise you continuously. Interlude4How blessed are those who dwell in Your house! They are ever praising You. Selah
How happy are those whose strength is in you, whose heart is on your path.5Blessed are those whose strength is in You, whose hearts are set on pilgrimage.
They will pass through the Baca Valley where he will prepare a spring for them; even the early rain will cover it with blessings.6As they pass through the Valley of Baca, they make it a place of springs; even the autumn rain covers it with pools.
They will walk from strength to strength; each will appear before God in Zion.7They go from strength to strength, until each appears before God in Zion.
LORD God of the Heavenly Armies, hear my prayer! Listen, God of Jacob! Interlude8O LORD God of Hosts, hear my prayer; give ear, O God of Jacob. Selah
God, look at our shield, and show favor to your anointed,9Take notice of our shield, O God, and look with favor on the face of Your anointed.
for a day in your Temple courts is better than a thousand elsewhere; I would rather stand at the entrance of God's house than live in the tent of wickedness.10For better is one day in Your courts than a thousand elsewhere. I would rather be a doorkeeper in the house of my God than dwell in the tents of the wicked.
For the LORD God is a sun and shield; the LORD grants grace and favor; the LORD will not withhold any good thing from those who walk blamelessly.11For the LORD God is a sun and a shield; the LORD gives grace and glory; He withholds no good thing from those who walk with integrity.
LORD of Heavenly Armies, how happy are those who trust in you.12O LORD of Hosts, how blessed is the man who trusts in You!
