ISV Parallel BSB [BSB CSB ESV HCS KJV ISV NAS NET NIV NLT HEB]
International Standard VersionBerean Study Bible
God, do not rest! Don't be silent! Don't stay inactive, God!1A song. A Psalm of Asaph. O God, be not silent; be not speechless; be not still, O God.
See! Your enemies rage; those who hate you issue threats. 2See how Your enemies rage, how Your foes have reared their heads.
They plot against your people and conspire against your cherished ones.3With cunning they scheme against Your people and conspire against those You cherish,
They say, "Let us go and erase them as a nation so the name of Israel will not be remembered anymore."4saying, “Come, let us erase them as a nation; may the name of Israel be remembered no more.”
Indeed, they shrewdly planned together, forming an alliance against you—5For with one mind they plot together, they form an alliance against You—
the tents of Edom, the Ishmaelites, Moab, the Hagrites,6the tents of Edom and the Ishmaelites, of Moab and the Hagrites,
Gebal, Ammon, Amalek, Philistia, and the inhabitants of Tyre.7of Gebal, Ammon, and Amalek, of Philistia with the people of Tyre.
Even Assyria joined them to strengthen the descendants of Lot. Interlude8Even Assyria has joined them, lending strength to the sons of Lot. Selah
Deal with them as you did to Midian, Sisera, and Jabin at the Kishon Brook. 9Do to them as You did to Midian, as to Sisera and Jabin at the River Kishon,
They were destroyed at En-dor and became as dung on the ground.10who perished at Endor and became like dung on the ground.
Punish their nobles like Oreb and Zeeb, and all their princes like Zebah and Zalmunna, 11Make their nobles like Oreb and Zeeb, and all their princes like Zebah and Zalmunna,
who said, "Let us possess the pastures of God."12who said, “Let us possess for ourselves the pastures of God.”
God, set them up like dried thistles, like straw before the wind.13Make them like tumbleweed, O my God, like chaff before the wind.
Like a fire burning a forest, and a flame setting mountains ablaze.14As fire consumes a forest, as a flame sets the mountains ablaze,
Pursue them with your storm and terrify them with your whirlwind.15so pursue them with Your tempest, and terrify them with Your storm.
Fill their faces with shame until they seek your name, God.16Cover their faces with shame, that they may seek Your name, O LORD.
Let them be humiliated and terrified permanently until they die in shame. 17May they be ever ashamed and terrified; may they perish in disgrace.
Then they will know that you alone— whose name is LORD— are the Most High over all the earth.18May they know that You alone, whose name is the LORD, are Most High over all the earth.
