Psalm 1
ISV Parallel HCSB [BSB CSB ESV HCS KJV ISV NAS NET NIV NLT HEB]
International Standard VersionHolman Christian Standard Bible
1How blessed is the person, who does not take the advice of the wicked, who does not stand on the path with sinners, and who does not sit in the seat of mockers.1How happy is the man who does not follow the advice of the wicked or take the path of sinners or join a group of mockers!
2But he delights in the LORD's instruction, and meditates in his instruction day and night.2Instead, his delight is in the LORD's instruction, and he meditates on it day and night.
3He will be like a tree planted by streams of water, yielding its fruit in its season, and whose leaf does not wither. He will prosper in everything he does.3He is like a tree planted beside streams of water that bears its fruit in season and whose leaf does not wither. Whatever he does prospers.
4But this is not the case with the wicked. They are like chaff that the wind blows away.4The wicked are not like this; instead, they are like chaff that the wind blows away.
5Therefore the wicked will not escape judgment, nor will sinners have a place in the assembly of the righteous.5Therefore the wicked will not survive the judgment, and sinners will not be in the community of the righteous.
6For the LORD knows the way of the righteous, but the way of the wicked will be destroyed.6For the LORD watches over the way of the righteous, but the way of the wicked leads to ruin.
