Psalm 1
ISV Parallel NLT [BSB CSB ESV HCS KJV ISV NAS NET NIV NLT HEB]
International Standard VersionNew Living Translation
1How blessed is the person, who does not take the advice of the wicked, who does not stand on the path with sinners, and who does not sit in the seat of mockers.1Oh, the joys of those who do not follow the advice of the wicked, or stand around with sinners, or join in with mockers.
2But he delights in the LORD's instruction, and meditates in his instruction day and night.2But they delight in the law of the LORD, meditating on it day and night.
3He will be like a tree planted by streams of water, yielding its fruit in its season, and whose leaf does not wither. He will prosper in everything he does.3They are like trees planted along the riverbank, bearing fruit each season. Their leaves never wither, and they prosper in all they do.
4But this is not the case with the wicked. They are like chaff that the wind blows away.4But not the wicked! They are like worthless chaff, scattered by the wind.
5Therefore the wicked will not escape judgment, nor will sinners have a place in the assembly of the righteous.5They will be condemned at the time of judgment. Sinners will have no place among the godly.
6For the LORD knows the way of the righteous, but the way of the wicked will be destroyed.6For the LORD watches over the path of the godly, but the path of the wicked leads to destruction.
