Psalm 127
ISV Parallel KJV [BSB CSB ESV HCS KJV ISV NAS NET NIV NLT HEB]
International Standard VersionKing James Bible
1Unless the LORD builds the house, its builders labor uselessly. Unless the LORD guards the city, its security forces keep watch uselessly.1A Song of degrees for Solomon. Except the LORD build the house, they labour in vain that build it: except the LORD keep the city, the watchman waketh but in vain.
2It is useless to get up early and to stay up late, eating the food of exhausting labor— truly he gives sleep to those he loves.2It is vain for you to rise up early, to sit up late, to eat the bread of sorrows: for so he giveth his beloved sleep.
3Children are a gift from the LORD; a productive womb, the LORD's reward.3Lo, children are an heritage of the LORD: and the fruit of the womb is his reward.
4As arrows in the hand of a warrior, so also are children born during one's youth.4As arrows are in the hand of a mighty man; so are children of the youth.
5How blessed is the man whose quiver is full of them! He will not be ashamed as they confront their enemies at the city gate.5Happy is the man that hath his quiver full of them: they shall not be ashamed, but they shall speak with the enemies in the gate.
