Psalm 41
ISV Parallel KJV [BSB CSB ESV HCS KJV ISV NAS NET NIV NLT HEB]
International Standard VersionKing James Bible
Blessed is the one who is considerate of the destitute; the LORD will deliver him when the times are evil.1To the chief Musician, A Psalm of David. Blessed is he that considereth the poor: the LORD will deliver him in time of trouble.
The LORD will protect him and keep him alive; he will be blessed in the land; and he will not be handed over to the desires of his enemies.2The LORD will preserve him, and keep him alive; and he shall be blessed upon the earth: and thou wilt not deliver him unto the will of his enemies.
The LORD will uphold him even on his sickbed; you will transform his bed of illness into health.3The LORD will strengthen him upon the bed of languishing: thou wilt make all his bed in his sickness.
As for me, I said, "LORD, be gracious to me! Heal me, for I have sinned against you!"4I said, LORD, be merciful unto me: heal my soul; for I have sinned against thee.
As for my enemies, with malice they said, "When will he die and memory of his name perish?"5Mine enemies speak evil of me, When shall he die, and his name perish?
The one who comes to visit me speaks lies; in his heart he thinks slanderous things about me and goes around spreading them.6And if he come to see me, he speaketh vanity: his heart gathereth iniquity to itself; when he goeth abroad, he telleth it.
As for all who hate me, they whisper together against me; they desire to do me harm.7All that hate me whisper together against me: against me do they devise my hurt.
They say, "Wickedness is entrenched in him. Once he is brought low, he will not rise again."8An evil disease, say they, cleaveth fast unto him: and now that he lieth he shall rise up no more.
As for my best friend, the one in whom I trusted, the one who ate my bread, even he has insulted me!9Yea, mine own familiar friend, in whom I trusted, which did eat of my bread, hath lifted up his heel against me.
But you, LORD, be gracious to me and raise me up so that I may pay them back!10But thou, O LORD, be merciful unto me, and raise me up, that I may requite them.
In this way I will know that you are pleased with me, and that my enemies will not shout in triumph over me.11By this I know that thou favourest me, because mine enemy doth not triumph over me.
As for me, you will maintain my just cause, and you will cause me to stand in your presence forever.12And as for me, thou upholdest me in mine integrity, and settest me before thy face for ever.
Blessed be the LORD God of Israel, from eternity to eternity. Amen and amen!13Blessed be the LORD God of Israel from everlasting, and to everlasting. Amen, and Amen.
