Psalm 36
ISV Parallel NASB [BSB CSB ESV HCS KJV ISV NAS NET NIV NLT HEB]
International Standard VersionNew American Standard Bible 1995
An oracle that came to me about the transgressions of the wicked: There is no fear of God before his eyes.1For the choir director. A Psalm of David the servant of the LORD. Transgression speaks to the ungodly within his heart; There is no fear of God before his eyes.
He flatters himself too much to discover his transgression and hate it.2For it flatters him in his own eyes Concerning the discovery of his iniquity and the hatred of it.
The words from his mouth are vain and deceptive. He has abandoned behaving wisely and doing good.3The words of his mouth are wickedness and deceit; He has ceased to be wise and to do good.
He devises iniquity on his bed and is determined to follow a path that is not good. He does not resist evil.4He plans wickedness upon his bed; He sets himself on a path that is not good; He does not despise evil.
Your gracious love, LORD, reaches to the heavens; your truth extends to the skies. 5Your lovingkindness, O LORD, extends to the heavens, Your faithfulness reaches to the skies.
Your righteousness is like the mountains of God; your justice is like the great depths of the sea. You deliver both people and animals, LORD.6Your righteousness is like the mountains of God; Your judgments are like a great deep. O LORD, You preserve man and beast.
How precious is your gracious love, God! The children of men take refuge in the shadow of your wings.7How precious is Your lovingkindness, O God! And the children of men take refuge in the shadow of Your wings.
They are refreshed from the abundance of your house; You cause them to drink from the river of your pleasures.8They drink their fill of the abundance of Your house; And You give them to drink of the river of Your delights.
For with you is a fountain of life, and in your light we will see light.9For with You is the fountain of life; In Your light we see light.
Send forth your gracious love to those who know you, and your righteousness to those who are upright in heart.10O continue Your lovingkindness to those who know You, And Your righteousness to the upright in heart.
Do not let the foot of the proud crush me; and do not let the hand of the wicked dissuade me.11Let not the foot of pride come upon me, And let not the hand of the wicked drive me away.
There, those who do evil have fallen; They have been thrown down, and they cannot get up.12There the doers of iniquity have fallen; They have been thrust down and cannot rise.
