Psalm 94
ISV Parallel NASB [BSB CSB ESV HCS KJV ISV NAS NET NIV NLT HEB]
International Standard VersionNew American Standard Bible 1995
God of vengeance, LORD God of vengeance, display your splendor! 1O LORD, God of vengeance, God of vengeance, shine forth!
Stand up, judge of the earth, and repay the proud.2Rise up, O Judge of the earth, Render recompense to the proud.
How long will the wicked, LORD, how long will the wicked continue to triumph?3How long shall the wicked, O LORD, How long shall the wicked exult?
When they speak, they spew arrogance. Everyone who practices iniquity brags about it. 4They pour forth words, they speak arrogantly; All who do wickedness vaunt themselves.
LORD, they have crushed your people, afflicting your heritage.5They crush Your people, O LORD, And afflict Your heritage.
The wicked kill widows and foreigners; they murder orphans.6They slay the widow and the stranger And murder the orphans.
They say, "The LORD cannot see, and the God of Jacob will not notice."7They have said, "The LORD does not see, Nor does the God of Jacob pay heed."
Pay attention, you dull ones among the crowds! You fools! Will you ever become wise?8Pay heed, you senseless among the people; And when will you understand, stupid ones?
The one who formed the ear can hear, can he not? The one who made the eyes can see, can he not?9He who planted the ear, does He not hear? He who formed the eye, does He not see?
The one who disciplines nations can rebuke them, can he not? The one who teaches mankind can discern, can he not?10He who chastens the nations, will He not rebuke, Even He who teaches man knowledge?
The LORD knows the thoughts of human beings— that they are futile.11The LORD knows the thoughts of man, That they are a mere breath.
How blessed is the man whom you instruct, LORD, whom you teach from your Law,12Blessed is the man whom You chasten, O LORD, And whom You teach out of Your law;
keeping him calm when times are troubled until a pit has been dug for the wicked.13That You may grant him relief from the days of adversity, Until a pit is dug for the wicked.
For the LORD will not forsake his people; he will not abandon his heritage.14For the LORD will not abandon His people, Nor will He forsake His inheritance.
Righteousness will be restored with justice, and all the pure of heart will follow it.15For judgment will again be righteous, And all the upright in heart will follow it.
Who will rise up for me against the wicked? Who will stand for me against those who practice iniquity?16Who will stand up for me against evildoers? Who will take his stand for me against those who do wickedness?
If the LORD had not been my helper, I would have quickly become silent.17If the LORD had not been my help, My soul would soon have dwelt in the abode of silence.
When I say that my foot is shaking, your gracious love, LORD, will sustain me.18If I should say, "My foot has slipped," Your lovingkindness, O LORD, will hold me up.
When my anxious inner thoughts become overwhelming, your comfort encourages me.19When my anxious thoughts multiply within me, Your consolations delight my soul.
Will destructive national leaders, who plan wicked things through misuse of the Law, be allied with you?20Can a throne of destruction be allied with You, One which devises mischief by decree?
They gather together against the righteous, condemning the innocent to death.21They band themselves together against the life of the righteous And condemn the innocent to death.
But the LORD is my stronghold, and my God, the rock, is my refuge.22But the LORD has been my stronghold, And my God the rock of my refuge.
He will repay them for their sin; he will annihilate them because of their evil. The LORD our God will annihilate them.23He has brought back their wickedness upon them And will destroy them in their evil; The LORD our God will destroy them.
