Hallelujah! Praise the name of the LORD! Give praise, you servants of the LORD,1Praise the LORD! Praise the name of the LORD! Offer praise, you servants of the LORD,
you who are standing in the LORD's Temple, in the courtyards of the house of our God.2who serve in the LORD's temple, in the courts of the temple of our God.
Praise the LORD, because the LORD is good; Sing to his name, for he is gracious.3Praise the LORD, for the LORD is good! Sing praises to his name, for it is pleasant!
It is Jacob whom the LORD chose for himself— Israel as his personal possession.4Indeed, the LORD has chosen Jacob for himself, Israel to be his special possession.
Indeed, I know that the LORD is great, and that our Lord surpasses all gods.5Yes, I know the LORD is great, and our Lord is superior to all gods.
The LORD does whatever pleases him in heaven and on earth, in the seas and all its deep regions.6He does whatever he pleases in heaven and on earth, in the seas and all the ocean depths.
He makes the clouds rise from the ends of the earth, fashioning lightning for the rain, bringing the wind from his storehouses.7He causes the clouds to arise from the end of the earth, makes lightning bolts accompany the rain, and brings the wind out of his storehouses.
It was the LORD who struck down the firstborn of Egypt, including both men and animals.8He struck down the firstborn of Egypt, including both men and animals.
He sent signs and wonders among you, Egypt, before Pharaoh and all his servants.9He performed awesome deeds and acts of judgment in your midst, O Egypt, against Pharaoh and all his servants.
He struck down many nations, killing many kings—10He defeated many nations, and killed mighty kings--
Sihon, king of the Amorites, Og, king of Bashan, and every kingdom of Canaan—11Sihon, king of the Amorites, and Og, king of Bashan, and all the kingdoms of Canaan.
and he gave their land as an inheritance, an inheritance to his people Israel.12He gave their land as an inheritance, as an inheritance to Israel his people.
Your name, LORD, exists forever, and your reputation, LORD, throughout the ages.13O LORD, your name endures, your reputation, O LORD, lasts.
For the LORD will vindicate his people, and he will show compassion on his servants.14For the LORD vindicates his people, and has compassion on his servants.
The idols of the nations are silver and gold, worked by the hands of human beings.15The nations' idols are made of silver and gold, they are man-made.
Mouths are attributed to them, but they cannot speak; sight is attributed to them, but they cannot see;16They have mouths, but cannot speak, eyes, but cannot see,
ears are attributed to them, but they do not hear, and there is no breath in their mouths.17and ears, but cannot hear. Indeed, they cannot breathe.
Those who craft them— and all who trust in them— will become like them.18Those who make them will end up like them, as will everyone who trusts in them.
House of Israel, bless the LORD! House of Aaron, bless the LORD!19O family of Israel, praise the LORD! O family of Aaron, praise the LORD!
House of Levi, bless the LORD! You who fear the LORD, bless the LORD!20O family of Levi, praise the LORD! You loyal followers of the LORD, praise the LORD!
Blessed be the LORD from Zion, he who lives in Jerusalem. Hallelujah!21The LORD deserves praise in Zion--he who dwells in Jerusalem. Praise the LORD!
