ISV Parallel NLT [BSB CSB ESV HCS KJV ISV NAS NET NIV NLT HEB]
International Standard VersionNew Living Translation
Look at you! You are beautiful, my darling. Look at you! You are so beautiful. Your eyes behind your veil are doves, your hair is like a flock of goats coming down from Mt. Gilead.1You are beautiful, my darling, beautiful beyond words. Your eyes are like doves behind your veil. Your hair falls in waves, like a flock of goats winding down the slopes of Gilead.
Your teeth are like a flock of sheep about to be sheared, who are coming up from being washed. All of them are twins, not one has lost her young.2Your teeth are as white as sheep, recently shorn and freshly washed. Your smile is flawless, each tooth matched with its twin.
Your lips are like a scarlet thread, and your mouth is lovely. Behind your veil, your temple is like a slice of pomegranate.3Your lips are like scarlet ribbon; your mouth is inviting. Your cheeks are like rosy pomegranates behind your veil.
Your neck is like the tower of David, built with rows of stones. A thousand shields are hung upon it, all the shields of the warriors.4Your neck is as beautiful as the tower of David, jeweled with the shields of a thousand heroes.
Your two breasts are like two fawns, twins of a gazelle grazing among the lilies.5Your breasts are like two fawns, twin fawns of a gazelle grazing among the lilies.
Until the day breaks and the shadows flee, I'll go to the mountain of myrrh and to the hill of frankincense. 6Before the dawn breezes blow and the night shadows flee, I will hurry to the mountain of myrrh and to the hill of frankincense.
My darling, you are altogether beautiful and there is no blemish in you.7You are altogether beautiful, my darling, beautiful in every way.
Come with me from Lebanon, my bride, come with me from Lebanon. May you journey from the top of Amana, from the tops of Senir and Hermon, from the dens of lions, from the mountain lairs of leopards.8Come with me from Lebanon, my bride, come with me from Lebanon. Come down from Mount Amana, from the peaks of Senir and Hermon, where the lions have their dens and leopards live among the hills.
You have made my heart beat faster, my sister, my bride. You have made my heart beat faster with one glance of your eyes, with one strand of your necklace.9You have captured my heart, my treasure, my bride. You hold it hostage with one glance of your eyes, with a single jewel of your necklace.
How beautiful is your love, my sister, my bride. How much better is your love than wine, and the fragrance of your perfume than all kinds of spices.10Your love delights me, my treasure, my bride. Your love is better than wine, your perfume more fragrant than spices.
Your lips drip honey, my bride; milk and honey are under your tongue. The scent of your garments is like the fragrance of Lebanon.11Your lips are as sweet as nectar, my bride. Honey and milk are under your tongue. Your clothes are scented like the cedars of Lebanon.
My sister, my bride, is a locked garden a locked rock garden, a sealed up spring.12You are my private garden, my treasure, my bride, a secluded spring, a hidden fountain.
Your shoots are an orchard of pomegranates, with choice fruit, henna with nard,13Your thighs shelter a paradise of pomegranates with rare spices— henna with nard,
nard and saffron, calamus and cinnamon, with all the trees of frankincense, along with myrrh and aloes, and all the finest spices. 14nard and saffron, fragrant calamus and cinnamon, with all the trees of frankincense, myrrh, and aloes, and every other lovely spice.
You are a garden spring, a well of fresh water, streams flowing from Lebanon.15You are a garden fountain, a well of fresh water streaming down from Lebanon’s mountains. Young Woman
Awake, north wind, and come, south wind. Make my garden breathe out, let its fragrance flow. Let my beloved come into his garden, and let him eat its choicest fruits.16Awake, north wind! Rise up, south wind! Blow on my garden and spread its fragrance all around. Come into your garden, my love; taste its finest fruits.
